Yes, certainly the Queen of the Skies. The A380 is purely functional and doesn't even come close in style and grace to the 747. And the 747-8 series is even more so!

Written on 2018/06/20 by Alan Hume

Huh? Tullamarine? When? Who? Japanese VIP? What is the livery? The top deck has blanked out windows. What is this? Questions, questions.

Written on 2018/06/20 by Alan Hume

What a truly evocative photo! Well conceived. A true Five Star effort.

It was a small slope that I made, in an Aerodrome that is in Guatemala. That day we had a Private Air Show

Written on 2018/06/19 by Brian Boche

I flew 17T all over the US after it was rebuilt in the early 70’s after hitting power lines. I have 8mm movies converted to DVD of it in cruise configuration and landing at various airports in Florida if anyone is interested

That___ is too cool Gman! Thank you - Who knew?

Written on 2018/06/19 by Tom Vance

Gman - thanks for the Comps - That 'Canberra' has been parked out on a remote strip east of it's location and shows on Google maps looking down at Redding Airport. They moved it back in about March 2018 now parked inside the Civil Air Patrol Gate where it shows here.

Does anyone one know the length and wingspan of these RC-135K, how do they compare with a civilian 707-100, or a 720. Thank you.

Center background w/folded wings is a Grumman E6-b Prowler

That's a YAK-3, circa WWII

Written on 2018/06/19 by jobeard

also initial squadron at KCMA, later updated to the big brother f106

Written on 2018/06/19 by jobeard

it's got the invasion strips, but on D-Day they were all Olivedrab.
the small door verifies it's a DC-3, but the RD-4, Sykdrain, Dakota's had large cargo doors. Still -- it's an amazing aircraft.

Written on 2018/06/19 by jobeard

That's a Consolidated PBY-5a (amphibian). Long range recon and air-sea rescue, circa late 30's early 40s

Superb photograph! Definite 5.0+.

Written on 2018/06/19 by ROBERT MILLS JR

The 747 series of aircraft with their front, upper decks distinguish them as the most beautiful and memorable designs of all commercial aircraft. The 747's incredible beauty and alluring shape are akin to that of some of the most beautiful human females. Words describing its visual and technological appeal just aren't adequate to describe the 747 line. This photograph awesomely shows the beauty of the 747-400. Total 5.0++, additionally with the perfectly framed photograph and excellent, manicured lawn in the foreground.

I joined the USAF and went through OTS in my dream to fly this incredible machine. Still dreaming. Incredible shots like this do such aircraft justice. Wow!
