A aura of mystery lingers in the air regarding this Boeing C-32B.
According to Joe Baugher's published information, here's some illumination on USAF s/n 00-9001...
"A Boeing 757 was photographed at Capetown AP, South Africa Aug 3, 2003, apparently unmarked except for the 'tail number' (actually carried on the rear fuselage) '09001' (which may be 00-9001 or may be spurious). Plane with same tail number seen at Stuttgart, Athens, Naples, central Asia, Sofia, Helsinki in Nov 2003. Seen at Edmonton, Alberta May 2005. Seen at RAF Mildenhall Feb 4, 2006. Aircraft allegedly operated in support of US State Dept's Foreign Emergency Support Team. User quoted as 108th ARW/227th SOF. It is actually B757-23AER MSN 25494/611, which has carried serials 98-6006, 99-6143, 00-9001, and 02-5001 interchangeably. Former civil registry was N987AN".
