NANCHANG PT-6 (N313YK)
Seven Nanchang China CJ-6s of the famous Tiger Squadron are just emerging from a formation pass during a performance practice session held ten days ago.
We had been observing them for about 25 minutes as they flew out over the Pacific west of Rancho Palos Verdes, but we could not get any type of click because they were too far out and the sun was in the west so it was shining into our faces. After awhile, we gave up and headed back toward LAX, but then we decided we would first swing past TOA and then scoot over to Long Beach just to try for a few pics there. As we approached TOA, these seven Tiger Squadron CJ6s came past about a mile away. We quickly cut off a few cars in order to pull over and we finally got some snaps of them as they came out of the formation and positioned to land at Zamperini.
