Airbus A320 (N536JB)
One of the most famous aircraft in JBU's fleet, "Canyon Blue" (N536JB) is caught in this photo taken yesterday (Jan 19, 2018) as it is about to pass over South McCarran while on approach to 34L.
Comments
As is obvious here, "Canyon Blue," the jetBlue A320 that was watched by hundreds of on-scene spectators and thousands of television viewers as it made its dramatic emergency landing at LAX in 2005, is doing just fine. It was especially noteworthy because the passengers who were ON this plane were watching the situation occurring to them on Direct TV screens throughout the cabin. (* The screens were turned off as the landing was being executed so the passengers could not watch, but TV viewers across the country watched as the jet touched down at LAX). Ever since then, "Canyon Blue" has been one of JBU's most publicly-known fleetbirds. This incident was the kind of incident that remains in a viewers memory forever.
Nice shot, Gary! I'm getting to where I can tell your pics and Uwe's pics just from the thumbnails. Well done!
Hi, Greg, and Thanx for the compli. (Big Grin) I can understand how you are able to ID the pics of individual contributors. I, too, can spot shots from certain photogs, such as Uwe, rwb, etc. Mine are rather easy to ID right away ... the small T-nail sizes of mine never look very good because I don't do much PS on them and also when I reduce them from original size the compression diminishes the Q. (I have a program that enables me to reduce them without degrading the original clarity but I only use it when I'm providing the pics to the airport, airlines, agencies, etc.).
Hey, we've got a great day happening here tomorrow. Numerous big birds ... B767s, a pair of MD-11s, and even an A330 (which will be the first one of those I've ever seen here). I'll be ultra busy tomorrow but I'll be sure to put some pics up pretty pronto this weekend. (Wave)

You're welcome, and good luck tomorrow (or today?). I'll be looking forward to some new shots when you're done.
Gary you are flying photographer or what??? you do always amazing pictures.. Super!
Greg ... I'll be emailing a great click of an Australian (RAAF - 6 Squadron) E/A-18 Growler colorbird to you and Cliff.
Serge ... Thanks again. I'm actually standing on the ground. See my reply to your other comment for an explanation. Also, Serge, I have an email addy that I use only for sending pics to FA folks who want to see them. If you are interested in receiving some, don't put your email address here; just email me at [email protected]. PS .. I don't overdo it; I only send ones that are rather unique or especially cool.

I love this viewpoint. Nice to see something different Gary !
Rated as one of the "Top Airbus Twinjet Photos" by FA. Excellent! Wicked good snap!
Any time a photographer can get an airliner in the air, from above, but standing on the ground,(even with Wells Fargo bank in the background) will be a special photo. 5 Stagecoaches on this one Gman! Frick.10 years from now that will be an awesome capture......!!
John, Dave, Alien, and Cade >> Hi to you all and Thanks once again for the comments and complis. John, it is always a special honor when I receive a compli from one of the very best photogs on FA. Very much appreciated. If I ever get another opportunity to get back to the wife's home state, I'd very much like to link up with you, Dave, and Darryl for a few minutes of spotting time at KBOS. Or if you ever get out this way. Alien, the next time I make a trip west over the "big hill," I'm going to plan a stop at Redding. Cade >> Howdy, and many Thanks. It really isn't that difficult to get a wide variety of angles here at RNO. There are (as of last week) twenty-six spotting locations around RNO (but we will probably be losing one by the end of this year). I've seen that you post your pics from Zurich, so I'm thinking you aren't going to be close by any time soon, but if you ever know you'll be out this way, let me know (with as much advance notice as possible) and I'll arrange some spotting time at RNO and RTS (and possibly even NFL). In the meantime, I'll make the same offer to you that I made to Serge (above). if you (or anyone else) is interested in getting occasional pics in the e/m, don't post your addy here, just email me at [email protected]. And TY again for your comment. (Wave)
