Atlantic Southeast Airlines Lightning Strike
Thanks to one of our American Airlines' pilot friends who sent us these photos this morning of an Atlantic Southeast Airlines/Delta Connection aircraft, after it suffered a lightning strike. (www.planebuzz.com) 기타...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
This was not a lightning strike! This was an electrical fire caused by a short in the ground power receptacle. The location is the exact location of where the circuit breakers are on a CRJ-200. There was only the Captain & a flight attendant on board the aircraft as they were preparing for a flight. Fire started almost instantly after ground power was plugged in by ground personnel & was extinguished shortly after by ARFF.
I was suspicious of it being a lightning strike when I posted it. It looks more like a fire than a strike, especially since of the way lightning travels around an aircraft. I just posted it as it was, and knew someone in the FA crowd would be able to point out what was really going on.
