Anybody who reads the first few paragraphs of this article will see they clearly contradict each other and the headline.
"Aussie MH17 passenger had oxygen mask on"
The body of an Australian passenger on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was found wearing an oxygen mask, Dutch prosecutors say, raising questions about how much those on board knew about their fate when the plane plunged out of the sky above eastern Ukraine in July.
The passenger did not have the mask on his face, but its elastic strap was around his neck, said Wim de Bruin, a spokesman for the Dutch National Prosecutor's Office which is carrying out a criminal investigation into the air disaster.
De Bruin said Dutch forensic experts investigated the mask "for fingerprints, saliva and DNA and that did not produce any results."
So the second paragraph says he did NOT have the mask on, which contradicts the headline and the first paragraph, which say he had the mask on and was found wearing the mark.
There is also no evidence from the forensic swabs to indicate the mask ever came near his mouth.

I wouldn't go jumping to conclusions. The investigators say that the mask was around the passengers neck, and that forensic examination of the mask could not confirm whether the passenger even touched it themselves. We know that the crash site was very far from being sterile before investigators showed up. Evidence tampering is entirely possible, in this situation. The wreckage came down in a populated area under rebel control. It's ENTIRELY possible that someone might have wanted to hamper the investigation.
I don't think any conclusions can be drawn here. Masks are in the overhead compartments which can be sheared open in a crash. Elastic straps holding the masks are rather flimsy and masks could be scattered about the cabin area. Fingerprints would be difficult to obtain from many fibrous surfaces, and in any case, both fingerprint residue (lipids, salts and amino acids) and DNA are biodegradable and/or water soluble over time. On the other hand, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, either.
An ad for Air France appeared 4 times during the slideshow of the crash attached to the article in the LA Times. Apparently the AF ad department does not know where their ads will show up on the site. Poor, very poor.
