Pence's Campaign Plane Slides Off Runway

It's going to be interesting to watch this one unfold. I wonder if there was any braking or mechanical failure. If not, going to be some questions to answer, for the two up front. Yes LGA presents some challenges but there is no excuse for this. Glad all are well.

Some moron talking head on cnn last night said the plane landed with the wind. I find it incredible the amount of stupidity that is allowed onto tv these days.

Does anyone have access to the recorded tower communications just before and during the landing

I kind of get trying to steer the aircraft to prevent damage to lead in/ app lights but maybe these new Eastern Airline guys should have familiarized themselves with the airport which provides a breakaway concrete pad at the end of the runway to stop accidental overruns with little or no damage to the aircraft. That is if my memory serves me right. Nobody hurt however is the best out ome.

An Associated Press piece contained this line, which I found a bit interesting: "The plane was coming to New York from Fort Dodge, Iowa, where it had made a hard landing but stayed on the runway earlier Thursday afternoon." Just my speculation, but I wonder if any comments from the passengers on the earlier landing in Iowa may have influenced the crew's actions at LGA.

It was designed to do so and stop the AC with little or no damage after going onto the overrun. It didn't tear up the TARMAC.

I heard Anderson Cooper ask an aviation expert if airport ground crew remove rain the same way they remove snow since he knows they use big plows for snow. Um, no Anderson,they use big mops.

Mike Pence had a bit of a close call Thursday when his campaign plane slid off the end of the runway at New York's LaGuardia airport.

A plane carrying Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence skidded off a runway Thursday night as it landed at LaGuardia Airport in New York.
