The problem has been widely discussed for years. Smaller US airlines have already experienced this problem. Becoming a commercial pilot requires a lot of training over a fairly long period of time. But it's very daunting to find information on how to even start the process. And when you find schools that offer training, their partner airlines are not US based. https://www.cae.com/civil-aviation/airlines-fleet-operators/training-partnerships/ If you want to start to deal with this issue, airlines should start putting up signs in airports or Internet ads.
