Plane makes emergency landing on highway near Toronto

Looking at it more, I think it's a flight sim video... wish I could edit my comment.
NOT a Sim ... really did happen exactly as reported ...
You don't switch tanks on climbout unless unexpected mechanical circumstances dictate. Takeoff checklist states fuel selector to "proper" tank and fuel pump on until 1000'AGL. Bottom line is the pilot did a great job setting it down safely.
Why was it necessary to switch tanks on climb-out at such a low altitude, and why didn't the pilot(s) switch back to the good tank when the engine faltered? Asking as a non-pilot.
Pilots did what they had to do.

I don't know if the video is B-Roll or is from the this flight? This is where I feel the legitimacy is questioned
