"Lake Erie Crash Pilot a Rookie Flying His Own Jet, Says NTSB" Jerry Shaw NewsMax
Where in the NTSB Report did it say this guy was a "Rookie" He may have had low time in this aircraft, but it does not state total time he had flown. How many aircraft has "Jerry Shaw" flown? He must be quite the accomplished pilot and aircraft expert to make this statement with such authority. Low time in that aircraft but a long stretch from being a rookie.

Sadly, another example of 'more money than brains'. Light business jets are fantastic, but if the experience level of the pilot is low, disaster is just around the corner.
Single-pilot ops is demanding. It appears on the surface that the airplane was way ahead of the pilot.
If you have that kind of money, hire a professional to sit in the right seat, he'll keep you alive.
Been there, done that, wore out the T-shirt.

Let me rephrase that.

More money than 'common sense'.

Seems that he had the correct qualifications and piloting experience and required training. Of course nowhere near what a military pilot has but one can not compare private pilot training to military training.

I would say he had the appropriate ratings, but not the experience. Why would military training apply in this scenario?
