(CNN) -- The JetBlue pilot arrested after an apparent midair meltdown last week was ordered held without bond during a brief appearance before a federal judge in Amarillo, Texas, on Monday morning, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. The U.S. magistrate ordered that Clayton Osbon, 49, be held in the Randall County jail until a detention hearing to determine his bond on Thursday, the prosecutor's spokesman said. Osbon, the captain of JetBlue Flight 191, has been in custody at a hospital… (www.cnn.com) 기타...

Sadly thats the only reason that makes sense. This country is going downhill fast. Help the poor guy out instead of humiliating him for having a medical condition.

This is insane.. plus, how is the F/O a hero? he did is job also didn't another B6 pilot come to flight deck to give assistance to the F/O?

Why would anyone want to have anything to do with airlines other than make a profit off one? It's totally unfair how the pilot gets treated, yet the AA flight attendant goes away scott free.

Let's just be relieved he wasn't an FFDO. Then we'd have all of the anti-gun nuts coming out of the woodwork and he'd be doing the work of 2 puppets.

I'm a little surprised nobody has brought this up http://www.newser.com/story/89518/jilted-jetblue-pilot-threatened-to-crash-plane.html

Two issues here which need to be addressed. One, as mentioned - had he been a FFDO (allowed to carry a gun), he could have shot the co-pilot, and then unloaded his clip on the passengers, and then let the airplane crash killing all on-board plus any ground people that just happened to be at the wrong place wrong time. Secondly, had he waited an hour to 'flip out', on short final at Las Vegas he could have shoved the control yoke forward and crashed into the ground before the first officer could have reacted, or turned hard right into the MGM Grand; killing many hundreds of people. The on-board passengers need to feel VERY fortunate neither of the two above did not occur. Now, I'm not saying he should or should not go to prison - we'll let the legal system run its course - I'm just saying the above scenarios are very real possibilities. You might recall Egypt Air 900? One of the pilots 'lost it' and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean out of JFK.

Yea, but Barry's comment would be a tragedy. I'm not sure given the selfish, totalitarianism of our government of late, that your scenario would be.

I keed, I keed. Kind of.....

As was said in the movie, "TOP GUN" ..... "Get him, up and flying" ... I hope Clayton can get the needed help and fly again. I do not believe, there was any ill intended on any one. We all have a "bad day" .. and it was sad his was made public ... The passengers had NO respect for him. you can clearly hear on some of the audio, Passengers being requested; "Not to take pictures" ..
