Confrontation With TSA Agent Leaves Grandpa's Ashes On Floor
INDIANAPOLIS -- A man's attempt to bring the ashes of his grandfather home to Indianapolis ended with an angry scene in a Florida airport, with the ashes spilled on the terminal floor. Exactly what moron would want to put their fingers into someone's ashes???? Too stupid to get a consult from management!!!
This is absolutely a bunch of )(*&^%$#@ on the part of TSA. I transported, my motheres ashes to KBDL from KSJC in May of 2012. YSA at KSJC, requested the State of California required mortuary documentation and x rayed twice. I informed the agent what it was as well, as was told; "We are NOT suppose to open, but x-ray only" ... So based upon my experience some one is LYING !!
I took ashes to UK a couple of years ago and I have to say it was one of the few reasonable experiences I ever had with TSA. When presented with the documents were very respectful and they did xray twice but were very considerate.
Still a matter though of who you are working with and what kind of mood they are in at the time. I think an apology and some retraining is merited.

TSA Agent Opens Grandfather’s Cremated Remains, Spills Them, Laughs at Grandson
Indianapolis’s ABC affiliate reports that John Gross was leaving Florida to return home to Indianapolis when a TSA official spilled ashes on the floor of the airport.
“They opened my bag, and I told them, ‘Please, be careful. These are my grandpa’s ashes,’” Gross told RTV6.
Gross said he was “told later on that she had no right to even open it, that they could have used other devices, like an X-ray machine. So she opened it up. She used her finger and was sifting through it. And then she accidentally spilled it.”
