For u who have flown for years, Emirates brings back great service, great food, great staff and a wonderful experience. I have life time gold status on United and plat on Delta but will fly them first. on trips where they have routes. For the serious traveler this is a great airline to partner with.

Phil..Hate Muslims! Really? Who else do you hate? Get help Phil. I will pay for it. You say you hold a "ATP" cert. This scares me the thought I share the airways with the likes of you..I bet you "Tailgate" when you drive...the world is in your way.

I love to fly but even for me that would be a long flight if your not in business class.

From what I hear Economy on Emirates is comparable to Domestic First on a US major.

I will be taking this flight in May next year. I have travelled previously on the same flight which used to be a Boeing 777-300ER (was just an awesome aircraft). Will be interesting to see the A380 for the first time.

Congrats, look forward to hearing your experience :)

Sure, if this thread is still active by that time (which would make it the longest active flightaware thread). From my past experience on the same flight with 77W, it was a brand new aircraft (around 6 months old) and it was spectacular. The cabin crew were a bit stiff (but nothing new as compared to other airlines). There are TONS of options for movies, TV shows etc. Still as the article mentions "bum-numbing" 16 hrs but I have had worst experiences on shorter flights.

From what I hear this is a really top top airline except for the silly uniforms specially the hats worn by the stewardesses.

Who ever said Arabs had taste. Lol

What a hard hitting humour !
But right.
With full veil for women and a hermit toga/robe like over all, where can you fit in 'fashion' ?
Much less haute couture !

Their "go to" decoration is to either trim it in gold or just cover it in gold. Cadillac makes a trim package specially for people with this gawdy sense of taste. Lol

I guess you have a point.
A good one at that !

akayemm
ha ha ha

Right my friend Welvis Catillo ?

dude, you have some serious racial issues that you need to deal with. Check yourself.

Right now, Emirates is blowing most if not all US-basd airlines out of the water, and they have the money to back it up, whereas our airlines are struggling to the point of mergers.

In short, you don't have the slightest idea of what you are talking about. I would suggest not posting a single thing until you do.

Dear friend Brad Littlejohn, sense of humour is different in different people. Me and you included.
Enjoy blogging.

In your opinion, which airline do you think is the world's best?

Emirates is a fantastic airline. They have all the bling in the world. Fresh planes, opulent interiors, nicest lounges in terms of food, furniture, and facilities. I fly with them often because they go where and when I want. The only drawback is their people. They are well trained, but the subtle but noticeable hint of discrimination is there.

If you want to know the best airline, fly Singapore or Thai. The staff cannot do enough for you. They are truly interested in serving you. At BKK can you beat a free massage while waiting for your flight? At SIN the lounge and amenities are unsurpassed. I was told they have everything except the juggling monkey that works at LOS.

Have travelled by both Singapore and Emirates recently, Singapore service is hands down way better than Emirates. The staff just raise the barrier with each travel. Emirates planes are newer with better in flight entertainment but staff is a hit or miss. some are nice while some are downright rude. Airport wise Singapore airport is the gold standard for airports. You are blown away each time you land there. Dubai airport is crowded especially around the duty free shopping areas.

Oh surely not! Say it isn't so. I thought only us "ugly Americans " were discriminators.

Dear friend Ric Wernicke, I fly infrequently.
Ages ago, in 1970's Thai were fairly new and were not covering too many destinations, but were considered 'very good' in services. It's interesting to notice that after SO many years they still are good.
SIN(WSSS) is regarded as the best airport. Irrespective of the airline ! No ?
YES, Singapore Airlines are vying desperately for the upper slot. Let's see how things turn out in near future !
Their effort for modification of cabin facilities will prove to be a great boon .

UPS fly cargo, and Netjets is not an airline.

I don't know if Netjets is considered an airline or not but I wish they were my airline.

First of all, there have been people arrested for an attempt to hijack an Emirates flight. Second, terrorist attacks are generally not the fault of the airline, but rather the security procedures at the airports to which they fly. And finally, whether you like it or not, Emirates are always in near the top of the list of world's best airlines. On that same list for 2013 9 of the top 10 carriers are from Asia, the highest ranked US carrier is Virgin America at 29th, the highest US 'legacy' carrier is Delta at 45th, and the highest ranked European carrier is Lufthansa at 11th. The list is also made using customer's opinions, so I think it's a little more accurate than your obviously racially biased and narrow-minded opinion.

I join the suggestions made by other bloggers here in that you need help, and on my own don't vent here any unfounded and unnecessary hatred, this site is about commenting on aviation related articles or issues even with totally opposing views but done in a civilized manner. Hasta la vista baby.

Phil don't need nobody to stick up for him for sure, but here's my 2 cents. You don't know where he is coming from. If you had friends killed by a certain group you might not be so forgiving. There was a time when I would have gladly killed any man, woman, or child associated with north Vietnam. That time has passed over the years. But rest assured in war, declared or not, these feelings abound when you see your friends die. Right now we have a war with terrorist Muslims. As I have commented many times, there are no real rules in war. That is an oxymoron and the exact reason the terrorists fight the way they do. If they played by some rule book they would be gone in short order. That said, I don't think Phil needs help, he just needs the war to be over and time to pass. IMHO

So an airline needs to be hijacked to be the best airline ?
