Qatar Airways to Replace Airbus A380s with Boeing 777Xs

Yes the 777 is a great aircraft. I just wish it had 2 more engines whenever I'm flying 17 hours across the Pacific from Australia to the US.

I used to feel that way too. Just as my grandmother learned to fly to Hawaii on a Connie instead of a "much safer ship" I learned with the 77 that two pilots and two engines was as safe as three pilots and four engines to Sydney.

Soooo....it seems oil at $50 is not bringing in enough cash to support the A380. The 777X will produce profits on their routes, while flying higher and faster.
