Frontier and Spirit to merge creating fifth-largest airline in U.S. in $6.6 billion deal

On several levels this merger actually makes sense. That doesn't mean it's going to easy on staff. ALPA will get tested and expect some operations chaos until the dust settles.

Doesn't matter to me. Never flew Spirit and stopped flying Frontier when it became a low cost airline.

I'm always amazed with mergers of this sort. Somehow the execs think that when 2 turds come together it creates a diamond. Sadly, all you get is a bigger turd.

I hope they keep the animals on the tails. The banana yellow is most unappealing but you can easily identify it in the sky.

Going to have to do a lot better, for us to switch to them. We are very satisfied with the service we receive from SW AIRLINES.

It is standard practice for the DOJ and DOT to review and ‘approve’ mergers of this sort. They are doing the same for the Jet Blue/American Airlines alliance in the Northeast corridor, which would result in rewards reciprocity for each airlines’ rewards members. Biden wants to hold companies that merge accountable. Frankly, I think that a lot of problems in this country stem from lack of accountability. So, I have NO problem with government oversight. I’m old enough to remember AT&T before the baby Bell spinoffs. Was a MUCH better company. So, I am not anti-merger. Just would like to see the benefits being touted by the parties to the merger actually realized.

I WISH THEM WELL..HAVE NOT FLOWN ON SPIRIT BUT HAVE HEARD "TALES" OF POOR QUALITY AND SERVICE..ITS BEN A WHILE SINCE I FLEW ON FRONTIER,AND THE SERVICE WAS JUST OK AT THAT TIME..THEY WERE IN THE BANKRUPTCY MODE A FEW YEARS AGO,AND THEN CAME BACK AS A "LOW COST" CARRIER WIH MUCH LESS SERVICE..ANYMORE I DONT THINK THE AMENITIES OF FLYING ARE AS IMPORTANT TO PEOPLE AS JUST GETTING FROM POINT A TO POINT B SAFELY AND WITH NOT MUCH HASSLE..

WAIT! The liberal in chief and his anti-business FTC and DOJ may fight this merger. That is pathetic reasoning.
