I used to work a "C" for United Express! I worked out on the tarmac running bags and loading planes. Funnest job I ever had, hands down! The worst part of it? Dealing with the union people ! >:( Those guys and gals were ALWAYS in a bad mood! On the upside, the mechanic cranked up my Toyota baggage tug for running interline and local bags! Getting all eight wheels of the tug and the empty cart off the ground on my way back to "C" from the main terminal! PRICELESS ! :) There were some fun jumps in those tunnels under the terminals. I especially enjoyed the drop down into the terminal B mail sorting dungeon !

I pointed out one of these aircraft to my son, it was operating in the Denver area last year! He didn't believe me. I was a CTT in the US NAVY for 20 years. I am VERY familiar with planes that are supposed to look like one thing that are really something quite different! The P-3 Orion being one good example ;)

The first military tactical/recon acft I ever flew in was an EP-3B Aries out of a little island called Diego Garcia. We went an grab some polaroids of a brand new Russki warship names "Minsk" that was headed over to the PACFLT at Vladivostok. The Aries had a cracked windshield and leaked stuff ALL OVER. The crew said that it was the oldest airframe in the fleet. The preflight brief said we'd be in the air for a little under 14 hours. aboyt 2 hours in, the flight engineer comes running back into the ops spaces pulling up floor tiles and looking inside the guts of the plane with a flashlight and a look of deep concern. I almost ruined my fruit of the looms when he let out a scream and then looked at us with a look of amazement on his face and then held up a styrofoam box "We got fried chicken in our box lunches!" then he smiled and I started breathing again. NAVY Aviators. Fun guys. I am keeping the folks associated with MH370 in my prayers. I hope they find something soon. The funny thing

Grew up outside of Westover AFB in the 60's. The BUFF's, nose gear lights used to shine thru my bedroom window @ night when they would take off! Good to see an old friend alive and kicking! Sometmes when the came off the runway they would come over so low they'd crack a window. Totally awesome! the sound of freedom! It doesn't surprise me one bit they are still flying and getting the job done. When you look up the term "old School" you'll see a picture of the Stratofortress there.
