The way I see it, that's dozens, if not hundreds, of good-paying assembly jobs coming to the U.S. to build the Bombardier CSeries aircraft. It's another resounding victory for our president and MAGA.
In retrospect, after a missed approach and two hours of holding because of bad weather without improvement, an alternate airport might have been a good idea.
That's an awful lot of money to be sitting on the ground. Hopefully, Boeing will come up with a good and safe fix for the 787 and this beautiful aircraft will take to the skies again soon.
I hope they didn't actually pay someone to come up with that paint scheme. I find it very unattractive. However, regardless of how their planes are painted, American's success will depend on new ideas to improve their service and in making flying a pleasant experience for the public.
I wondered for years before 9/11 when a terrorist group would think of using aircraft as flying weapons. If I could think of it, why didn't the government/FAA/TSA think of it ? Not that I am a big fan of the airlines, but I hardly think they should be held culpable. I'm sure that United's and American's security procedures were in line with the standard practices of the time. I can't imagine they would want their planes hijacked or used as flying bombs. I too place blame on the FAA as the governing body. And seriously, why would they wait 11 years to decide to place blame with the airlines ?
Flying used to be an enjoyable experience. Now it just plain sucks. Forget all the add-on fees for baggage and every other conceivable thing and just reflect the airlines' additional costs up-front on the ticket price. Personally, I love to fly but I'm glad I don't have to very often.
