Completely inadvertent flight. The guy pressed “Start” and the next thing he knew he was on final al LAX (though apparently left of glide slope and out of sequence). Hey, stuff happens.
I have a FlightAware ADSB receiver at my house in Central Florida. The range of my antenna setup is a radius of about 230nm. My usual 24hour tally of flights is between 3,800 to 4,200. On March 13, I tracked more than 4,000 flights. On April 1 the count was Less than 1,800. By the way, Sun’N Fun 2020 has been cancelled, so my April total will be far below the usual.
I’m just wondering how this community feels about the MAX going forward from this point. This is an informal poll of course, but, knowing what you now know, would you or your family fly on a MAX? What would change your mind?
As for me, no I will not knowingly board and flight in a 737 MAX and it will take hundreds of thousands of safe flying hours for me to reconsider.
What a nasty surprise that would be! Did Boeing purposefully decide not to inform operators of the change or did they fail to flight-test failure modes on this vital bit of equipment?
Dreamers ... At the end of the day, lift must significantly overcome weight and thrust must significantly overcome drag. Wishing it were otherwise will not alter those physical realities.
There will never be conclusive proof as to exactly what happened to MH370, exactly where, or exactly why. The best we'll every have is speculation. If you don't want speculation then do not, repeat DO NOT, read or listen to any more "reports" about this terrible tragedy. When the final report is issued, it will be all speculation and theory. Sorry, but that's as good as this one gets, like it or not.
