No Indy, TSA isn't a tragedy because of this latest article-- they are a tragedy for the other 50 before! All I can think to say about this latest incident is wow. (And yes, that is with 100 percent sarcasm)

We seriously need a squawk and eject button on comments. Love dbaker and chiphermes, not so much the cream puff in between! :p Not sure if I misread the comment about "erasing" the first family or not so I will reserve my DEMOCRATIC comments about that and just say lets please stick to the topic at hand--ATC. I agree that this isn't news worthy and anyone that's been in a plane more than once understands the purpose of a go around and the lack of glamour and excitement this news piece is trying to give it...

LOL at Ken... I think the random alarm and two people on a shift are both good ideas that should have been enacted long before these stories started hitting the airways. Sad part is this probably happens to some degree regulary and it just now making the news reels

Trust me, I am the first person to tell you I hate TSA and I don't think they are qualified to pat bed spreads, let alone humans BUT... in this case the agent was extremely professional. She did not prolong the search as the article makes it seem and she told the little girl evreything that she was about to do before doing it. As a mother of a young girl I wouldn't have been upset about the type of search performed, I would have been upset that the search was performed at all. I too would have wanted them to wand her again. On the other hand, as a Iraq war vet I can appreciate not taking for granted that this is a child. Unfortunately Americans are extremely naive about the use of children in terrorist acts. Also, it's sad to say that people are a bit bigoted when it comes to what they "think a terrorist looks like." Of course I don't think this little girl is a terrorist or that she is hiding something under her clothes, but I've had occassion to learn better. That's all I'm saying

All I know is I'm glad that a reputible magazine came to the defense of Southwest. I am one semester away from my MBA and my thesis is all about showing how Southwest is the most successful airline in history because of XYZ. The day after this incident occured I got an email from my professor basically asking what tricks do I have up my sleave thats going to help me save my thesis. I'm proceeding with the same argument becuase Southwest is STILL the most successful and I have added a little blurb about them voluntarily grounding planes before the AD came out. This further proves my argument that they are customer centered.

LOL @ Ronald. You said exactly what I am thinking. Seriously, it sounds like he was showing out because he thinks or knows he can. Whether it was for the girl specifically or to show that he can attempt to destroy a 6 figure object at will because he knows there will be no consequences is really a side thought. Bottom line, this douche does not deserve to keep his ticket. The audio paints a clear picture of a reckless kid who showed no regard for the safety of his passengers or the citizens on the ground.

One would think if a plane needed to sit on the tarmac for two hours because of weather, maybe it shouldn't be taking off anyway. Forget about getting a fine because passengers were inconvenienced by you possible saving their lives... psh
