This is probably the best photo posted here, ever.

One of my all time favorite airplanes along with it's fighter cousin.
Good photo but I don't know if it's the best.

When I saw this photo, I thought of the movie The Right Stuff…those days of the test pilots.
The first US jet fighter called P-80 & F-80 "Shooting Star" was single seat, operational from January 1945. Therefore NOT the aircraft pictured in this magnificent photo.

The aircraft pictured are as correctly stated T-33 also popularly called "Silver Star" and "T-Bird". They are the two-seat (tandem, trainee pilot in front and instructor in the rear) TRAINER version, hence the designation "T" -33.

A beautiful aircraft to fly and extremely well-built and as you can see from this photo, some are still flying, and until recent years some in operational roles in various Air Forces.
I loved to fly this aircraft in my days in RCAF (being trained for RDAF).
