WestJet is coming to Glasgow, Scotland on May 29, 2015
WestJet (Calgary) today announced Glasgow, United Kingdom, as its newest European destination. Daily nonstop flights from Halifax begin on May 29, 2015, with direct (same-aircraft) service from Toronto (Pearson), operated on one of the airline’s Boeing Next-Generation 737-700 series aircraft. (worldairlinenews.com) 기타...This is a boon for Nova Scotians who have had difficulties with air service over the years. I remember when one could not fly to the US from Halifax without going through Toronto or Montreal. There were charters to Europe but no daily service.
Now WestJet is providing competition to Air Canada which flies a daily flight from Halifax to London and a few once a week flights on TransAirSat. Nova Scotians best prices now are from US departure points through EWR or PHL. This should drive prices down as there are good connections to much of Europe through Glasgow.
