This is a good lookin airplane, even if the nose strut looks like it came off of a C182!

Maybe it should have a nose strut (and more) like a C182. The C182 was introduced in 1956. Bet you $1,000,000 the PC-24 will not have a production run lasting 59 years.

Nor will it sell as many units. So what?

So what? You're joking, right? Actually it depends on your vision and values, I suppose. As pilot, customer and investor I'm much more excited by a manufacturer where concern for quality, lengthy production runs and brisk unit sales enjoy high priority. But if maiden flights of aircraft with low production value are your thing, I guess you had a good day and I'm happy for you.

Actually, I wouldn't get too worked up over a flip comment made by a guy who has probably flown more C182's than you have ever seen. The comment was not meant to be derogatory to either manufacturer and had I said Learjet nose strut, most would not have known the difference, though there is plenty. Some folks wry humour is the next guys snark is the next guys ignorance. Bloombergs, this ain't.

PC-24, like most new aircraft in its type class, is pretty much a ground-up design and I would expect to find that the nose strut (along with nearly every other component) is essentially unique to the aircraft, regardless of its appearance. I know that neither your comment nor mine was intended to realistically suggest that the design of any part was actually borrowed from Cessna (nor should it have been). Moreover, it is preposterous to suggest that anyone at Pilatus expects to produce multiple thousands of units of the PC-24 or that they anticipate a production run of anything like 59 years. However, for now my money and my butt stays with Cessna. Dreadfully, acquisition of my PC-24 is deferred to coincide with delivery of my next custom Bentley. Cheers. :)

And to you.

Man you people need a life...

Perhaps, but you DID read all this junk AND felt compelled to comment. Welcome aboard, my friend, welcome aboard.

Are you really questioning the quality of the PC-24 relative to the Cessna 182? And the PC-24's production is sold out for years to come, thank you very much.

An aircraft can be a commercial success without a 50-plus year production run or having tens of thousands of the type sold.
