United tells Boeing to stop making the Max 10s the airline ordered

제출됨

United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby reportedly revealed Tuesday March 12 the carrier has asked Boeing to halt production of the 737 Max 10s the airline ordered, and to build Max 9s instead after an extended delay. "We’ve asked Boeing to stop building Max 10s, which they’ve done, for us and start building Max 9s," Kirby said Tuesday at a JPMorgan investor conference, according to Bloomberg. "It’s impossible to say when the Max 10 is going to get certified." (www.foxbusiness.com) 기타...

UAL CEO states the obvious : "It’s impossible to say when the Max 10 is going to get certified."

The way things are looking, he should probably add “or if” to the statement.

Maybe when it's properly type-certified as something other than a B37.

And impossible to say for how long it will get grounded after another mishap.....

Boeing is cooked. Those short term stock price targets and buybacks were great investments huh? This is what stripping a business down to maximize shareholder value gets you. Shitty products from lack of innovation that comes from a lack of investment. Taking profits is the literal opposite of investment. There should be a balance in a healthy business. Situation at Boeing has been unbalanced for over 20 years. There’s wider lessons here.

Too bad the executives that did this a got millions in bonuses and do not have to repay those bonuses for killing the company.

and passengers and crews. Shame. Greed. The board of directors have the ultimate responsibility and what we see is the result of a board comprised of greedy members. The core at Boeing has been rotten for years.

Wouldn't be the first time a company got bought and the new executives run it into the ground while making off with millions.

Can executives be taken to Court for dereliction of duty?

Who said he didn't? My observation was "what has he done to make taxpayers lives better"? Can you even find Ukraine on a map? Much less the $160B I've sent them! Are you good paying for 9,000,000 more illegals, who kill Americans and spit in cops face after 6 of tgem beat the chit out of cops? Are you this ignorant in person or does the anonymous environment make you feel smarter? What has Biden done to make your life better, safer from the real enemy, China! Your mindnumbingly obtuse accusations are becoming boorish and a nuisance!

I am going to run it up where your brains are just once ....

The S&P 500 was 2237 on March 23 2020
The S&P 500 closed at 5,088.80 on Friday so it took ByeDon just a few years to double it
You should know ByeDon had experience dealing with Republicans who ran The down to the ground ..as VP during Obama Presidency
On the day that Obama and ByeDon took office, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) closed at 7,949.09.1
On Obama's last day of office, the DJIA closed at 19,827.25.11 The DJIA grew 149% during Obama's presidency.

Trump is the only president in the last 80 years to net job losses during his presidency. President George W. Bush is the runner-up with 1 million jobs added during his administration. Bush's successor, Barack Obama, is credited with 12 million jobs and Biden Trumps succesor added 10.7 million jobs
Today my personal wealth has increased substantially since ByeDon took office
My Fixed income went from -11 % to +5 %The S&P was 2541in March 2020 and today it is 5088 Look at the numbers ...facts are facts

As he conveniently left out the inflation rate since sleepy creepy joe took office. Also left out crime stats and oh, that tiny little thing called IMMIGRATION that's beyond ridiculous.
On a fixed income , it makes sense. Sheep lives off of other peoples money.

It may be too late but it's time the 737 series be retired and Boeing builds a new aircraft, the right way, by engineers, not accountants.

It's way too late. By now, I doubt Boeing has the engineering capability. Might as well ask Lockheed to get back in the business.

Yup! 100%...

Better for Boeing to build, deliver, and get paid for a certified airplane, the 737-9, than to build, park, and tie up money in a not-yet-certified airplane, the 737-10.

Better for United to get a 737-9 they can actually fly now, than to wait who knows how long for a parked 737-10 to be certified.

Between the lines this sounds like United saying “We’ve been unsuccessful so far in finding short-term delivery positions for A321neos, we need new airplanes now, so we’ll take the airplane we can get now that’s close to the capacity of a 737-10 or an A321neo.”

It's also a good negotiating, or in this case renegotiating, tactic to get a big price adjustment. United's suspension of production will influence other airlines and especially potential customers for the -10, so Boeing might be eager to entice them United back with a price cut.

Boeing took the cheap path when they chose to keep stretching a 1960s design. They should have invested in a blank sheet aircraft or maybe upgraded the 757. Penny wise and pound foolish.

Given Boeing's quality and safety history, it would be a cold day in hell before I ever boarded a Boeing Starliner capsule for space flight. (If that ever happens that is). I am not an astronaut of course, but just sayin.

Right or wrong, I have started selecting my flights based upon the manufacturer of the aircraft these days. Delta A-300 series aircraft in the next few weeks.

I know, I know, it's the maintenance of the aircraft that's the culprit in most of these recent cases but still...........

I think you’re all idiot!!! Boeing is so much more than 737’s, like F15’s and F/A-18’s from the plant in St. Louis, AH-64 Apache helicopters from Mesa or Chinook helicopters from Philadelphia and 787’s from Charleston and Kc-45’s and P8.

Chris - personally, from what I've heard, I wouldn't be championing 787's.

Good point, negated by hostile language.

UNITED should get a real CEO and then contact Boeing. Not before. And they should revamp their pilot recruiting practices and stop that woke sht.

What in the name of heaven does DEI have to do with Boeing not being able to get the Max-10 certified.

Really, you need to find a new hill to die on.
