My favorite war plane! So ugly you have to love it!

I don’t think these are ugly at all.

Hadn't realized until this view that it's another aircraft you can have enough damage where getting the gear down is impossible yet you can land without having to scrap the airplane, similar to the B-17 and the C-47 though in those you need to replace the props. Great photo, great plane.

Fantastic airplane... it still have years ahead before getting a successor.

There is no successor for exceptionally good planes. They may be better but generally are worse.

I wish we would have had these in Nam. Although the A-1 wasn't bad.

You can land gear up and not have to replace the props in a C47, if you do it exactly right. But I still would have traded.my AC47 for this machine when I was working targets in Nam.
