I believe that this one is a Skyhawk
A-4ESKYHAWK
"Heinemann's Hotrod"!
Scooter
A-4 "C" SKYHAWK VA 86
Haven't changed much. The carrier I was on, Ticonderoga CVA-14 had A5 Skyhawks on them back in 1970. Work horse.
Why post it there is no aircraft or location information....
The A-5 was the Vigilante, a much different aircraft designed for Nuclear weapons delivery. Since we weren't dropping many of those it got re assigned RA-5. Used for photo reconnaissance. VA-86 Sidewinders, note the snake on the intake.
What airwing used AE on the tail?
This good-looking aircraft was retired in 2003. Its ship, USS America (CV-66) was decommissioned in 1996.
Fun fact: the cockpit in this aircraft was so tight that it generated many restrictions on the pilot's size, height, leg length, arm reach etc.

A4C........check the registration.
