Sister ship to Glacier Girl?

"Scat III", formerly "Ruff Stuff" is a P-38L, a later model from the earlier P-38F of "Glacier Girl".
One of the easiest differences to spot are the larger/deeper intercooler scoops under the spinners of the J and later models. The earlier models had the beautifully sleeker scoops.

This one is owned by Jerry Fagen from Granite Falls in western Minnesota. They put on a great Warbird airshow every other year in the summer.

Robin Olds is a famous fighter pilot who fought in WWII and Viet Nam. He had a long and interesting career in the Air Force, and was married to a Hollywood actress.
He and his daughter wrote a book about his flying career, titled "Fighter Pilot". It's an excellent book to read about his exploits during both wars and in between. This guy was the true blue, dyed in the wool 100% fighter pilot.

Remembering Colonel Robin Olds and his tenacity during Vietnam. He pushed for Operation Bolo, I think it was called, to mimic the Thuds which were really Phantoms reduced the North Vietnamese Mig fleet by 1/2. He WAS the BEST.
