Gene Pardee- that's "Kaman"... not "Karman"... :-)

This one was known as the HH-43 Huskie.

Great pic thanks Gene
That boxy little thing set an altitude record in 1959 of greater than 29,000 feet (almost 30k). Mr Kaman maintained one with a dedicated pilot for his personal use to visit companies near his Connecticut headquarters. Thank you Gene for a great picture and for jogging loose some good memories.

Correction: Kaman HH-43 Huskie

I stuck my head in one of these at Aviano AB once and ended up helping the mechanic bleed the brake on the rotor.
We used them in Air Rescue in North Africa

Went on to invent the Ovation guitar ...
Wow, the memories this image brought to life. 3 1/2 years on the Huskie as a flight engineer [Pedro in Vietnam] Loved this bird, was used to save more lives in Nam than any other Chopper, [as per Kaman records].
I had the honor to train on that helicopter at Hill AFB in the early 70's. Our 43B's were replaced with UN-1N's at Homestead AFB, Fla.

It's an Air Force HH-43B "Huskie" to be precise, built by Kaman Aircraft Corporarion for Local Base Rescue operations primarily at fighter bases.
