For Onward Lam - As alluded to by others, this aircraft has received a special modification for the delivery of fire retardant and water for the purposes of fighting wildfires. To my knowledge, this is the only 747 receiving this modification. It is unrivaled by any other type of aircraft currently used for firefighting. Given the number of 747s being retired from passenger service, I hope there will be a few more of these to be put into service.

Evergreen had one and tested it at KMZJ, maybe someone knows what happened to it.

@jack ogle - The technology for N744ST was developed by Evergreen. When Evergreen liquidated, GST got the assets and the B742 that was the supertanker was scrapped.
