"White Tail" Boeing C-17A N272ZD on approach to KLGB following a test flight.

Beautiful aircraft that McDonnell Douglas and inheritors Boeing managed to miss the biggest trick in mass transportation.
A ship that can land and depart upon almost any runway on the planet and only used for military purposes. It can and does transport people ( troops and support personnel etc. ) so why ever not a high density odd route that mainstream airlines would run away from?
Hugely versatile and very capable, why on earth have the regulatory authorities not certified this aircraft for non military passenger services? Airports would love it since it is capable of reversing from the gate without the need of a tug!

Fantastic capture of this beauty!
I find it amusing that the FAA has the engine type recorded as "Turbo-prop." http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_Results.aspx?omni=Home-N-Number&nNumberTxt=272ZD
I love this jet, I followed one into Burke Lake front Cleveland about ten years ago and felt wake turbulence beyond belief. Very versatile and powerful, I got to go inside it at the Cleveland air show.
