@David Plummer Oh I'm sure they do, probably under a SAM callsign (Special Air Mission) and in a Warning Area off the coast. Purely speculation on my part, but the Air Force doesn't do anything without training for it constantly, especially with that aircraft's and crew's mission, and like anything in aviation (military or civilian) there are currency requirements.

Very interesting configuration. Stood beneath a refueling operation directly over Sunlight Creek in NW Wyoming about 5 months ago. Thought I'd never see this again but low and behold...Thanks!

I believe whenever VC-25 takes Prez anywhere an. E-4 is prepositioned to the nearest AFB. The flag is transfered to the E-4 in the event of hostilities due to the E-4's increased electronic capability so Prez can make real-time decisions.
