North American AT-6A Texan known as Nella owned and operated by the CAF WASP Squadron who are stationed out of Dallas Texas. This aircraft received its name Nella from the original WASP Squadron mascot Fifinella which they borrowed from famed animator Walt Disney. The Women Airforce Service Pilots or WASP Squadron was formed in 1943 for the purpose of training pilots, testing aircraft, ferrying aircraft, and training other pilots in order to free up male pilots for combat roles during World War II. This aircraft is currently on the Air Power History Tour with the Commemorative Air Force giving rides to the public and as many original WASP as possible. To date, she has provided seven flights, and proudly holds their signatures in her luggage compartment according to their website.
