Lockheed L-188 Electra (VH-RMA)

One of my all-time favourite aircraft, I never got to photograph an Electra in passenger service. By the time I got into photography and taking a camera to the airport, they'd been converted to cargo, but at least they were still around.

The blokes in the clean white overalls obviously arent mechanics Gavin!Nice nostalgia.

Thanks Mike. Can't tell you any story about the shot, but Ansett was clearly in the throes of the new white livery at the time and I guess the coveralls were part of the new corporate image. Mechanics or not, they wouldn't stay white for long!

Great pic here. One of my first-ever flights was on an Electra (an Electra II, after the fatal flaws were worked out and Electras were put back in service). TY for sharing this photo.
