Lockheed P-3 Orion (15-8227)
RP-3D Paisano Tres at Brisbane Eagle Farm airport, November 7 1982
Comments
A lucky find on a trip to North Queensland during a stop over at Brisbane's airport, back then being Eagle Farm.
As far as I can determine there were two RP-3Ds operated by the US Naval Oceanographic Office for Project Magnet, this one named Paisano Tres with the Roadrunner nose art, the other named El Coyote and had Wily Coyote as nose art.

Ultra-rare capture! Worth five just because of how rare it is and add five more for the outstanding quality. ***** ***** This is a wonderful pic, Gavin Many, many Thanx for sharing it. (Tip of my photog's cap ...)
Thank you Gary. At the time I'd never heard of them and was surprised to see this and just fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. A few years later I built a 1/72 model of this one (photos even), interestingly though, no decals for the name.
Agreed w/Gman....super rare and lucky is the photog! 5x
Thanks Tom.
