Qantas began operating the RB211 in November 1979 when it took delivery of Boeing 747-238B. VH-ECB.br /The engine shown (serial no. 13655) uses the core of the newer Trent 700 delivering more power with lower fuel consumption and emissions. It has been fitted to Boeing 747 and 767 aircraft and has a total of 33,605 flight hours.
