Ken Kemper... use the USAF s/n ("registration") 61-0029 for this Boeing B-52 and it will associate it with the other FA photos of this a/c!!!

From Joe Baugher's published information for USAF s/n 61-0029...

"0029 (MSN 464456) assigned to 93rd BS at Barksdale AFB in 2015. 93rd BS Active apr95 mar16 AFRC, 'SAC Time' apr04".

Ken... You are very welcome and my thanks to you for the good words... and for sharing your exemplary aircraft photos with us on FA!

Ken- with a "lite" fuel load, she might have rendezvoused with an aerial tanker once enroute to Barksdale AFB... :-)

Cliff......

That makes sense..... the 128th Air Refueling Wing is right down I-41 in Milwaukee with their KC-135's.

Thank you for your kind words regarding my pics. Much appreciated.

Boeing have certainly made some good looking aircraft over the years!
Great picture! It's an awesome aircraft.

I have 3000+ hours in the BUFF (G model) as a Radar Navigator (which is the SAC designation for bombardier) and was stationed at Barksdale. I've been retired for 25 years now so things may have changed, but any time we took of it involved training, usually a full training mission. Don't ever recall doing a direct base-to-base flight. Can't waste flight hours boring holes in the sky without accomplishing some training.
I'm sure it didn't have 80,000 lbs. of ordinance either… That plane can carry one heck of a load.

So I've seen a B-52 twice in my life. Once I got to sit and crawl through one at the Pima Air Museaum in Tucson back in 1986. But before that, in 1971, live and on the tarmac fully loaded at Westover AFB in Massachusetts late at night. Was going for an ROTC exam and my friend and I were told where to go on a foggy cold night, but we missed the turn and drove onto the tarmac where a black B-52 was idiling on generators waiting to go in the fog. MP's showed up 20 seconds later. Never, ever forget it.

I remember as youngster, we were at Black Rock Desert when one flew right over us at 50-100 feet. It blew us down to the ground and the noise was amazing! This was in the late 70's and it may have been stationed at NAS Fallon.
