Everyone I interacted with there was just amazing, I've never dealt with anyone this friendly and helpful when it comes to aviation, Canadian hospitality to be proud of, highly recommended! (Andreas and Troy were who I dealt with most, but I'm sure all employees are equally awesome)
Longer version: I grew up in Calgary but learned to fly after moving to the US later. I flew from California to Calgary in a small plane for the first time to visit family last week, and got trapped by the 4-day snowstorm over Thanksgiving (as many others did, it caused havoc on the roads etc). Anyway, Troy cleaned my airplane several times while sitting on the ramp during the stay to keep it as ice and snow-free as possible, but it was an unusually wet storm over multiple days so ice was everywhere. Then on the day of our departure, he pulled the plane into a heated hangar, plugged the heater in, and allowed me to load it up inside instead of in the -7 C miserable wet weather outside. We have small kids so the extra comfort was HIGHLY appreciated! Even after several hours of everything melting off before we got there, the plane was covered in a lot of water. Then Troy and Andreas used a blower to get all the water off. They were patient and never rushed anything... I was so happy and it allowed us to depart on time to make the long journey home and clear customs etc.
Along the entire way they were super friendly and helpful. It will be an experience to remember and I wanted to share it. Oh and to top it off, they fueled me up and the entire bill wasn't nearly as bad as I feared! (Yes, flying is more expensive in Canada than the US, they have a lower volume of operations so it's just a fact of life, but these guys ROCK!) Cessna Centurion |
