old Short Brothers plant? (SD3-60 and SD3-30 final assembly site?) Good on them if they can make a go of it!

Umm..noo..Bombardier plant..acquired in 1989..Bombardier makes wings and engine nacells there, along with other parts.

They've been making a go of it for a long time. Maybe do some basic research before posting?

my statement is correct. Bombardier used the old Short facility. What part do I need to research for you? Short & Harland were on the same location from the early 1930's. Shorts got out of airframing the the 1980's, and has been a component supplier under various entities since. What have I left out??

Your statement is incorrect in the way it was worded..it appeared, by your own wording, the plant had not been upgraded etc..it actually is a Bombardier plant as many of the old buildings were gutted and retro fitted with modern equipment..Bombardier has been making a go of it since 1990.

How long before Airbus starts beuling the C series in Europe I wonder. Buying the Belfast plant would be another step towards that.
djames225
The Belfast plant makes the C-Series wings and actually would help Airbus with wings for their other craft..also of note is Airbus just bought more land at Mirabel with plans for plant expansion/part manufacturing etc.

They already have a factory in Canada and they're building another in the U.S. They don't need three.

Most of their sales will be in North America and building them there will solve the problems of Agent Orange, the tariff addict, whining about foreign manufacture.

Terrible that America has a President that stands up for American manufacturing and American workers. About damn time if you ask me.

Hopefully soon!

Why, do you have land for sale you want them to buy?
KobeHunte
because it is struggling and would be good if they could take it over.
