Cessna SkyCourier Completes First Flight

The Cessna SkyCourier twin-turboprop prototype lifted off on its first flight Sunday morning from Beech Field at Textron Aviation’s east campus in Wichita. Yes, a work horse: form follows function, can carry three LD3 containers. FedEx is the launch customer, ordered 50, optioned 50 more. Guess they need something bigger than their Cessna Caravans.

Will the floats will be mounted close together on the fuselage,meaning you'll need largish wing tip floats, adding drag, or will they be on substantial pylons and bracing which would also add a lot of drag ? I wonder if either float configuration will make it a fuel hog.
