Airplane forced to make emergency landing after bird in engine

DAYTONA BEACH -- A bird forces a small plane to make an emergency landing Saturday. A hawk got caught in the engine of the Cessna 172 Skyhawk at about 8:20 p.m. The pilot was trying to make it to Ormond Beach municipal airport but smoke started filling the cockpit so the plane had to land at Daytona Beach International airport.
