Delta in Need of a Fleet Planning Attitude Adjustment
Delta Air Lines has one of, if not the most diverse and unique fleets of aircraft of any major airline. While CEO Richard Anderson’s strategy of seeking out the most cost-effective solutions when shopping for new (or gently used, as the case may be) jets has led to record profits thus far, the time to make an exception may be now if the world’s leading airline wants to hold on to its dominant status. That easily arguable.
The case can be made that of the three major airlines (who are also the three largest airlines in the world), Delta was the first to go through their merger, the one with the more integrated and smoothest operation and the the largest profit.
It's arguable, but I can easily see the case that for that statement.

Besides some of these articles that are written by high school or university students who have a strong interest in aviation, are often the result of more effort and better analysis than some 'professional' articles on some aviation sites that are arguable of much lower journalistic quality than these articles.
