Australia just retired some DH4C that would be a good replacement and easier to load as well.

If by "just retired", you meant "about a decade ago", then you'd be correct.

Doesn't Buffalo Joe captain the "sched" between Hay River and Yellowknife?

Time to retire the old girl. Not much money in flying her anymore. Too expensive to repair. In the meantime, Buffalo has a contract to fly for 802AF Air Boss's and four C215's fire fighting amphibs.

These old warbirds in Joe's fleet were used to drop the AIRBORNE troops from Canada, United States and the United Kingdom. They rattle away like a can full of rocks. That aircraft has probably been repaired by now flying the Mackenzie river valley route. They are a vital pipeline into the Canadian Arctic. They supply remote communities that dot their routes.
