In the quest to charge passengers for every aspect of a plane ticket that used to be included in the basic fare, major airlines thus far have held back from assessing fees on carry-on bags. (www.forbes.com) 기타...

Sooner or later passengers will rebel, I can only hope sooner.

It's like I was telling my wife at a MLB game earlier in the year. People will pay stupid money for a hotdog as long as it's a good hotdog, but make them over pay for filler laden junk and they will quit buying them. Right now passengers are over paying for domestic air travel but sooner or later they will rebel at over paying for lousy and cramped seats, surly and unhelpful employees and over all terrible service.

An airline phoenix will rise out of the ashes eventually and begin to offer a good product that is reasonably priced. OK, that might not happen until they all fire at least half of their MBA's.

Sooner or later, probably sooner, people will start smartening up and fly charter services, with friendly, service oriented crews, luxury accommodations, included food or snacks, comfortable seats, music and video, and the ability to go where they want when they want. Adios Airlines!

Not sure what charters you fly, but from MCW to MDW the cost is about $2,000 (590 miles). $6,800 MCW to SAT (1600 miles) in a Piper Navaho. A jet was to the tune of $26,780 - $38,000 according to one quote.

The average flier cannot afford such lavish spending, and that is reality.

Pretty soon, it will be easier and much more pleasant to just stay home and have a virtual vacation or virtual meeting using the 3D surround technology being developed by Microsoft for XBox and all the other tech company's similar products. Airlines are gradually making the flying experience less and less enjoyable. The tipping point is not that far away when the average consumer will say no thanks to being treated like cattle.

My point exactly although I think rather than not flying at all the average consumer will reduce their flying to only what is absolutely necessary. Want to go to Africa? OK, pretty much have to fly to get there. Want to go to California for family vacation? Maybe let's drive this year instead of flying.
