I checked in @ DUB last fall and it was 100% self serve. There was a human available for help if summoned. Facial recognition, passport scan , bag tag print and affix, pay the fees , receive boarding pass and receipt , head to the gate. It was all self serve. The technology is there now.. The down size was the checkin lobby was huge.

That’s the big problem flying SWA and LCC’s. Electronic tickets and no interline ticketing agreements. In th old days Airline A would accept Airline B tickets gladly or at least accept the paper ticket and exchange after departure for a FIM. We skated on several cancelled flights but somehow got on an on time flight and our baggage was monitored from behind the scenes and arrived on our flight with us two days later (not WN)
