Passenger plane overruns landing strip in Seoul

A Korean Airways passenger plane has overrun the landing strip at Niigata Airport in north west Japan. The Boeing 737 had departed from Seoul's Incheon International Airport. On landing in Japan it came to a halt on the grass. No injuries were reported. (www.bbc.co.uk) 기타...

Sad part is, any problem had for the next pretty good while, whether pilot error or mechanical or wx, by any Korean Airline company, is going to get highlighted, when in fact, it may have nothing to do with the airline at all and may just be a massive brain fart on the part of the pilots. I posted a smart aleck comment below myself but it won't be the last that somebody will post. Might happen to any one of us tomorrow but we are not Korean so it probably wouldn't even be heard about. Those guys need to be on their game for a while

Sure. Korean airlines (meaning airlines from Korea) will be viewed with the same sideways glances as the Dreamliner and A-Rod until we start seeing some more time between incidents.

Well, LionAir is a good example. Just about the time they were getting over that drug problem, they dumped that one in the drink on short final, and now have hit a cow over yonder someplace. With each one, that drug problem gets brought back up, even though they are pretty much over it.

How do you get the wrong city in wrong country in the heading?

3000 people are killed every day world wide in car crashes , flying sounds pretty safe to me right now , its not perfect , but its pretty dam close .

problem is though Steve, is that if a commercial liner goes down, you have 2-300 people at one place as opposed to 1-2 in the cars. I do have to agree though, much safer. As a matter of fact, the higher rate is generally on those non professionals, regardless of the transport mode.

These two Koreans seem to be from same tribe as pilots of Phenom 300 that over ran at the Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie .

I have a bad feeling for the Korean airlines I mean not just Korean airlines but them all in Korea because they just can't seem to escape bad news. Maybe if they train there pilots better they wouldn't have any accidents. Ask Qantas to train your pilots because from my understanding Qantas has never lost a jet in flight or due to a crash. But please correct me if I'm wrong.
