United tells Boeing to stop making the Max 10s the airline ordered
United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby reportedly revealed Tuesday March 12 the carrier has asked Boeing to halt production of the 737 Max 10s the airline ordered, and to build Max 9s instead after an extended delay. "We’ve asked Boeing to stop building Max 10s, which they’ve done, for us and start building Max 9s," Kirby said Tuesday at a JPMorgan investor conference, according to Bloomberg. "It’s impossible to say when the Max 10 is going to get certified." (www.foxbusiness.com) More...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
UAL CEO states the obvious : "It’s impossible to say when the Max 10 is going to get certified."
The way things are looking, he should probably add “or if” to the statement.
Maybe when it's properly type-certified as something other than a B37.
Boeing is cooked. Those short term stock price targets and buybacks were great investments huh? This is what stripping a business down to maximize shareholder value gets you. Shitty products from lack of innovation that comes from a lack of investment. Taking profits is the literal opposite of investment. There should be a balance in a healthy business. Situation at Boeing has been unbalanced for over 20 years. There’s wider lessons here.
Too bad the executives that did this a got millions in bonuses and do not have to repay those bonuses for killing the company.
Wouldn't be the first time a company got bought and the new executives run it into the ground while making off with millions.
and passengers and crews. Shame. Greed. The board of directors have the ultimate responsibility and what we see is the result of a board comprised of greedy members. The core at Boeing has been rotten for years.
