The Most Avoidable Passenger Plane Crash: Air France Flight 447

제출됨

On June 1, 2009, Air France Flight 447 was cruising from Rio de Janeiro to Paris when suddenly the communications were lost, and debris from the flight was later recovered from the Atlantic Ocean. The investigation revealed several issues that caused the flight to crash, which would later be addressed to improve flight safety. (aeroxplorer.com) 기타...

Very poorly written, disorganized and incomplete. You skipped over many relevant contributing factors. Did you even read the rather lengthy BEA report and many of the other technical reports regarding this crash?

...and? What are you trying to insinuate? I agree the article was poorly written, but what else?

Among other things, the author of the article seems to be unaware of existence of PITOT tubes, referring to them as "pilot tubes". Somebody even vaguely familiar with aircraft wouldn't make that mistake, and if autocorrect did, they'd catch it.
ToddBaldwin3
No insinuations. I just expressed my thoughts on the article.

Cool...understood.

A surprising number of airline disasters can be traced to blocked pitot tubes. There hasn't been one in quite a while, so perhaps enough hard lessons have been learned about the issue. Even more basic, don't fly into bad weather, period.

I just don’t think the press handled this crash with the same constant corporate negativity that it gave the two Boeing 737’s. It seems that deficient systems training and troubleshooting

And you thought Boeing had poor designs!

It was not really a poor design, even though I think Boeing is miles ahead. There is one big difference between Boeing and Airbus and why I much more like the Boeing A/C.
Boeing believes the Pilot should have the final authority over the aircraft and design the avionics accordingly.
Airbus believes the Computers should have the final authority over the aircraft and design the avionics accordingly.
There was a Russian pilot who had his child in the cockpit. The kid accidentally hit the yolk and disconnected the a/p and the crew did not pick up on it. They flew a perfectly good plane to the ground killing all onboard because they trusted the plane more than themselves!... I believe the Captain should have the final authority!

And ultimately, that is what brought AF447 down. They were flying an Airbus, and an Airbus won’t let you stall. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize that in Alternate Law, that protection no longer worked. Complacency and not fully cognizant of the aircraft systems operating limitations.

Boeing does *not* think the pilot should have the final authority over the aircraft. Proof: MCAS.

Where is all this stupid stuff coming from this forum used to be about current problems not things dredged up from years ago and speculation accidents. Boeing Aircraft problems in the last many days are just news outlets trying to sell there goods to people. A tire falls off, airline only problem same with an engine fire same with a panel falling off. You got sucked into the same dumb deal by reading them. Boeings door problem has been found and delt with the bolts were either never there or fell out before the door blew off. Evidence of that is there was no signature on the castings to indicate any were in place when it blew off.

AeroExplroer is a aviation news congregator and the more news stories a person submits the higher their status goes. That is why a few of the people, this OP included, only post articles from AeroExplorer. so he can be a member of the shiny medal exclusive club.

In the case of Aeroxplorer, theyre trying to generate revenue through ads, click bait. They write very mediocre to poor stories on things aviation related. Sometimes they report on recent news, but it’s just a rewriting of news stories already posted. Then they self-promote their own stories. The poster, Dan Mena writes/works for Aeroxplorer and only posts items from Aeroxplorer. There are several other posters that do this with other aviation sites.
